Care Guide
A chandelier or light fixture is the centerpiece of a room — and like any centerpiece, it only takes a little regular care to keep it brilliant for years. Use the guidance below based on your piece's materials.
Crystal & Glass
- Always disconnect power before cleaning any fixture.
- Dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen the cloth with water and a drop of mild glass cleaner — never spray cleaner directly onto the fixture.
- Avoid ammonia-based products, which can dull crystal facets over time.
Brass & Metal
- A light patina is natural and part of solid brass aging gracefully — wipe with a dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
- For lacquered brass, avoid abrasive cleaners, which can strip the protective coating.
- For unlacquered brass, an occasional brass polish will restore shine if you prefer a brighter finish.
Stone & Marble
- Wipe spills immediately — marble is porous and can stain if left in contact with liquids.
- Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid vinegar, lemon, or other acidic cleaners, which etch marble.
- Reseal marble surfaces annually if used in high-touch or high-moisture areas.
Bulbs & Wiring
- Replace bulbs only with the wattage and base type specified for your fixture.
- If a fixture flickers or feels warm to the touch, disconnect it and contact an electrician before continued use.
- Have hardwired fixtures inspected by a licensed electrician every few years, especially in humid or outdoor installations.
